New Zealanders prefer top-loading washing machines for their speed, convenience and familiarity, while front load washers are appreciated for their gentleness on clothes, water efficiency and excellent spin speeds.
Nowadays the old objections to front load washers have been largely overcome with shorter wash cycles, larger capacities and the ability to add extra laundry during the cycle.
It is now essentially a choice between water conservation, ergonomics and the best deals available.
